Solar Schools

Description of the program

$50,000 National Solar Schools Program (NSSP)

Every Primary and Secondary School in Australia is eligible to apply for grants of up to $50,000 (ex GST) to install a minimum 2kW solar power system as well as a range of other energy efficiency products.

Multi-campus schools and R-12 schools on one campus may be eligible for multiple grants.

For schools with mains power supply, surplus electricity generated by solar power systems on weekends and during school holidays may be able to be sold back to the electricity grid as part of the feed-in-tariff scheme.

A key outcome of the program is to use the installations and upgrades as educational tools for students. This will ensure greater awareness and understanding of our environmental impact as well as practical every day skills to reduce consumption.

How we can help.

As the process can be a bit daunting (and time consuming), we do everything we can guide you to the best value for money. We regularly consult with key personnel at the school to ensure they are making informed decisions and achieving the best outcomes.

We firmly believe the future of our environment and renewable energy depends on teaching children about energy use and conservation. We provide your teachers with energy advice and classroom aides to help with education. We also offer ourselves to the school community (parents & friends) via information sessions to answer questions about the benefits of the upgrades. All teachers and parents of children at your school can receive discounts on their own purchase.
